Life is … a beautiful struggle.

This sizzle reel features footage intended for a documentary highlighting the work of the Balikbayan Project, a project spearheaded by Philippine-Canadian Jonathan Rivero (Qi Creative) who took a handful of Canadians across the globe to Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines to give back whatever gifts they had been given in life to share with underprivileged street children at Streetlight. The gift of music, dance and self expression developed faith, hope and self-confidence in our next generation giving them a better quality of life. In 2013, Tacloban was hit with by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda, the biggest natural disaster to hit the Philippines ever. Since then, the team has returned to Streetlight with the purpose to help them rebuild and overcome the adversity and trauma of the typhoon. After more than 6 years in the making, the feature length documentary, Balikbayan: From Victims To Survivors is currently in post-production and is slated to release in 2015. Directed by Rob Hillstead. Produced by Bernie Hernando and Jonathan Rivero.
